Bentley Woodfair

The Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum, based in the quiet East Sussex countryside boasts a number of different activities and events throughout the year. The site spans across 90 acres and boasts a wildfowl reserve, round houses nestled amongst the woods, living willow tunnels, an adventure playground and an impressive motor museum. After a day of exploring you’ll be sure to want a refreshing drink in the cosy cafe next to the popular miniature railway.

The Summer craft fair that takes place each June is a great day out for the whole family. With it’s numerous children’s activities and vast range of exhibitors to showing of their work in jewellery making, quilting, ceramic arts and woodworks. There are many other things to get involved in including watching the interesting journey from wool to fleece as well as admiring the rare breed sheep, new baby chicks and Miniature Shetland ponies.

Bentley’s biggest annual event comes in the form of the Bentley Woodfair which takes place each September. Here you’ll find activities, exhibits, demonstrations and seminars on all things woodland and timber related including stalls selling traditional woodland crafts. The Bentley Woodfair also hosts a number of educational activities and forestry demos. This is a great day out for anybody interested in arboriculture and our beautiful surrounding forestry.

The final and festive event of the year, taking place in November, is the Bentley Christmas Fair which is sure to get everybody in the mood for Christmas. Boasting homemade craft stalls, gift stalls, delicious Christmas food stalls - there’s bound to be something here for everyone. Onsite you’ll also find gorgeous Miniature Shetland Ponies as well as a miniature railway for the whole family to have fun on. It wouldn’t quite be a Christmas Fair without Santa Claus making an appearance in his grotto, making this is a fun day out for the children too!
