Bedgebury Pinetum

Relax and enjoy the tranquility of Bedgebury Pinetum where you’ll find a vast collection of magnificent trees from the English Oak, the Serbian Spruce to the Tamarack. It is now considered the largest and most complete collection of conifers in the world. The Pinetum’s main role is to further our understanding of trees.

This is a great place for the whole family to spend some time and learn about our local forests. There are activity sheets including ‘Tree Bingo’ and a ‘Treasure Hunt’ that can be printed off before arriving for everybody to get involved with. The three managed areas of Bedgebury Pinetum, the National Pinetum, Forest Research Plots and Bedgebury Forest are fantastic spots for bird watching where Goldcrests and Firecrests are regularly spotted during the Spring months. During the Winter you can expect to see Siskins, Redpolls, Bramblings, Fieldfare, Redwing and, of course, Hawfinch.
