This is popular course aimed at people who want to use a chainsaw in their own domestic setting - either novice or for those with a little experience wanting to extend their skills.
This course is run as a small group and workshop topics include; chainsaw maintenance, PPE selection and use and emergency planning. Also included is safe starting of the chainsaw from cold, safety checks and basic crosscutting typically for firewood applications are covered in the afternoon.
Kit hire - all PPE and kit is provided for this course.
One day - brief overview of topics. This is aimed at people who might not have used a chainsaw before or want to use their saw soley for cutting firewood.
Two days - this allows for more indepth coverage of the topics, providing comprehensive knowledge. This is ideal for people who would like to gain deeper or further their knowledge and understanding of the saw, and those who may use the saw for a wider range of uses, within their domestic setting. Some clients choose to gain a qualification - the Lantra Awards Integrated Training and Assessment is aimed at people who may want to use a chainsaw occasionally.
This is a non-certificated course.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for this course, other than a keeness to learn about the safe use of a chainsaw!
Our chainsaw training courses are held at our site near Tunbridge wells, where we have a fully equipped heated workshop and plenty of trees for practice.

We are pleased to now offer an Emergency Outdoor First Aid at Work course. Ian has a wealth of first aid and trauma experience. Following discussions with him, he has created a more bespoke course for the industry – although all the skills are covered (including catastrophic bleeds and trauma), the scenarios and accidents discussed are tailored to the forestry and arb industry.
